TIME: Less than 30 Minutes

Many items are suitable for recycle crafts including:

  • bottles
  • milk/juice cartons
  • egg cartons
  • cereal boxes
  • cookie boxes
  • drink cans
  • food storage containers
  • Old CDs
  • newspapers
  • plastic bags
  • paper bags
  • old cards
  • egg shells
  • old toys
  • empty baskets
  • bottle caps
  • magazines
  • Jelly Jars
  • rocks
  • leaves
  • sticks
  • accorns
  • spoons
  • paper plates

These items can be reused and recycled to make new toys, games and learning activities. You can make a craft box of Recycled Materials For Your child with these items and use them as needed.

Here I am giving you a couple of ideas on items that my son and I have recycled for our craft projects.
Not everything you use for crafts has to be stored bought!

Educational Ideas:

  • Lesson Plan Ideas: Center a lesson plan around recycling and why it is good for the environment.
  • Learning: Ask students to bring into class recycle materials and make a recycle box, encourage them to tell their parents to recycle at home as well. Send out fliers telling parents how they can recycle and how they can make simple craft projects at home .
  • Role Playing: Use recycled materials and play pretend by showing in which pile each material should go in. Paper? Plastic or Metal?
